Free Inquiry #6 – Creating Outfits for Teaching on the Whering App

After researching a few fashion apps (see Inquiry Post #4: https://ceadra.opened.ca/2026/02/28/free-inquiry-fashion-tech/), I decided that my favourite was the Whering app. This is a fun and practical application where you can digitize your closet by uploading photos of your clothes (so easy, the app takes seconds to digitally cut out the background and add the clothes into the app), or, you can use items that are already in the app or even search online! The longest part of the process is taking photos of your closet. I have decided to take a slow approach, so every time I do my laundry I try to upload new images, slowly digitizing my closet in the process!

With an upcoming practicum, I decided it would be practical to have a few professional outfits in my back pocket. While there is no dress code at my placement, I want to find a middle ground where I can represent my personal style in a more professional way. When we consider the fluidity of self-expression and individuality, we need to remember that the ways that we express ourselves can show up differently depending on who we are interacting with and the environment that we are in. So, as I take the first step from student to teacher, I aim to find a style that feels professional, yet fun. Let’s explore some of my Whering creations!

But first, check out this video of me shuffling through some of my items and using the randomization tool:

Outfit #1

The boots, jeans, and belt are not my own uploads, yet I have very similar items. The sweater is mine, though! I feel like this outfit really represents my personality but still feels elevated from some of my day-to-day outfits!

Outfit #2

Another, but this time both the shirt and sweater are my own. I found it challenging to accurately layer the items, but it still serves its purpose by giving me an overall idea of how the outfit would look!

Outfit #3

Maybe white pants aren’t the most practical option… but this could be a fun outfit for spring!

In Conclusion…

It was really fun to explore my professional style in the Whering app. I am excited to continue to digitize my closet and build options for my upcoming practicum. While this post takes a more practical approach than many of my previous posts, it has been fun to explore what I have learned and apply it to myself directly, while still focusing on individuality, self-expression, and sustainability!
